Prof.Dr. Yeşim Özarda
Dr. Yeşim Özarda graduated in 1990 from Istanbul University, School of Medicine, Istanbul, Turkey. She specialised in Biochemistry in 1996 at Marmara University School of Medicine, Department of Biochemistry, Istanbul, Turkey. Dr. Yeşim Özarda worked as a specialised Dr. in Clinical Biochemistry, an assistant and an associate professor in Clinical Biochemistry between 1998-2009 at the School of Medicine in the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Bursa Uludag University, Bursa, Turkey and became a professor in Clinical Biochemistry in 2009 and worked a full professor between 2009-2020 at the School of Medicine in the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Bursa Uludag University. She has been working as a full professor at the School of Medicine in the Department of Medical Biochemistry, Istanbul Health and Technology University, Istanbul, Turkey, since 2020. Professor Dr. Yeşim Özarda became the Dean of Medical Faculty of Istanbul Health and Technology University in January 2022.
Dr. Yeşim Özarda is a member of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry (IFCC) Committe on Reference Intervals and Decision Limits (C-RIDL). She worked in the C-RIDL as a corresponding member between 2009-2011, full member 2011-2016. She became the Chair of C-RIDL in 2016 and worked as a Chair between 2016-2021. The work with C-RIDL is ongoing as a Consultant of the CRIDL since January 2022.
Her research areas include reference intervals and decision limits, biological variation, choline metabolism, adipokines and free fatty acids, genetic mutations in healthy Turks, quality control, accreditation and evidence-based laboratory medicine.
